The purpose of the
"Center for Entrepreneurship" is to support students' entrepreneurial
ideas, serve as an incubator for start-up student businesses, provides a place to display and sell student products, and will assist students
who need to schedule meetings with vendors to price products and plan designs. The Center also encourages after-school/community service
participation through its "E" Club and will be used to organize events related to business and financial literacy. These
include our Credit for Life Fair, NYC Wholesale Buying Trip, Business Plan
competitions, JA’s Titan Challenge – a business strategy competition and Common
Cents – a financial literacy education challenge.
Our Mission: We seek to increase students' entrepreneurial knowledge through real-world, relevant learning with the ultimate outcomes of graduation, post-secondary enrollment, business ownership and/or gainful employment.
Our Goal: To provide an incubator and resources for NBHS students who would like to launch a business and offer support services for Entrepreneurship II classes.
Short Term Outcomes:
1. Launch E-Club after-school
2. Allow use of space for students to meet with business advisers, local entrepreneurs, business coaches who can coach students on their business plans and/or business venture.
3. Serve as an incubator for students to contact vendors, purchase and display product, access supplies, etc.
4. Organize, host and participate in business and financial literacy education events.
Long Term Outcomes:
1. Program Advisory Committee: Establish a working committee with representation from area businesses such as the Massachusetts Small Business Development Center Network, local entrepreneurs, and the banking/accounting industry to help sustain and improve the Center and overall business programs and courses. Some of the goals for the Committee are:

- Update course materials, methods of instruction and help recruit entrepreneurs and business professionals as classroom speakers and business coaches
