Vision:

The History and Social Studies Department at New Bedford High School seeks to prepare students to make informed civic choices and assume their responsibility for strengthening equality, justice, and liberty in and beyond the United States. Our courses seek to challenge students to not only study significant periods and developments in history, but to work towards mastering the skills of analysis and inquiry through a careful study of historical documents and trends and what they mean for life in the 21st century.
